This past weekend I spent Friday night photographing Games Night(Timed Events), Saturday photographing a horse show, and Sunday photographing a Drill Team competition at Crimson Acres in Orange, MA.

I must say, I love Crimson Acres. They are so willing to work with me and let me use horses for my shoots for school. They take excellent care of their horses and they really care about their riders.
The riders and their families are great, too. They are very friendly and welcoming to newcomers at the barn and I must say, I've had a great time watching them ride and I look forward to getting to know everyone.

The timed events were really fun to watch! Not just poles and barrels, but there definitely a few I don't think I've ever seen back home (and there were probably more after I left, but I had be back at 8 the next morning.)

The show was really great to watch, especially as a rider myself. I got to be in the ring with the judge so I could take pictures for the rail classes, and during the lineup, the judge took time to give some advice to each rider. She was so great, and really good complimenting the riders when they had improved during their next class. Everyone's horses were so gorgeous, and I just hope everyone knows that they looked great up there!

Drill team on Sunday was interesting. I had never been to a drill team competition before, so after the first drill I figured out the bet place to stand. It also started pouring and sprinkled off and on throughout the day. I was so impressed by the drills! Kind of made me wish I had watched some drill team competitions before deciding not to do it back home. Its definitely something I will be doing in the future!

I really had a great time photographing everything this weekend! It doesn't matter matter how long I've been in the Equestrian world, I'm still amazed by everyone. It doesn't matter what level show I've been at, whether I'm showing, photographing, or spectating, I'm always so thankful to be part of this community that is so welcoming and the people are very supportive and friendly of each other.
